Sinoboom Upgrades Telematics Platform With AI-Link

Sinoboom has upgraded its telematics offering with AI-Link, a digital platform that uses OEM-level machine data to provide information on equipment condition, maintenance, utilization, and fleet operations.

The platform builds on Sinoboom’s existing i-Link telematics system and uses manufacturer-specific diagnostic signals and parameters to provide additional information about individual machines. AI-Link also connects equipment data with digital service and operational workflows.

By connecting data from machine controllers and key components with platform-based services, AI-Link can monitor, diagnose, and remotely update equipment. The platform also provides information on machine productivity, utilization, and downtime, giving fleet managers additional data for maintenance, fleet allocation, and operational decisions.

AI-Link can operate as a stand-alone telematics platform or provide deeper-level information alongside existing systems such as Trackunit.

Sinoboom said AI-Link integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology, big data, and artificial intelligence across six areas.

The platform captures more complete OEM machine data for diagnostics and condition monitoring. Industrial-grade e-SIM technology provides connectivity across multiple regions, while FOTA enables remote firmware updates and DOTA supports advanced remote diagnostics.

Security features include identity authentication, role-based permissions, and audit trails designed to help secure equipment assets and control machine access and operation. An open API allows AI-Link to connect with existing business systems and telematics solutions.

The platform also uses AI-powered troubleshooting analysis to convert machine data into recommended actions for service and maintenance operations.

For fleet managers, information from components such as engines, batteries, and controllers can provide earlier visibility into potential anomalies and support fault assessment. Remote diagnostics and FOTA can help resolve certain issues or update firmware without a site visit, where applicable.

In addition to basic telematics information such as machine location and operating status, AI-Link provides data on productivity and utilization rates and can flag issues such as unplanned downtime. Sinoboom said this information can support fleet allocation, dispatch, and operational analysis.

Ben Xie, head of the Sinoboom Intelligent Research Institute and global CIO, said: “AI-Link has already been rolled out to over 100,000 machines globally, with overwhelmingly positive feedback received so far. Our customers appreciate the range of available functions on top of location tracking – operation is safer thanks to the higher security measures, and fleet management is more efficient and simple.”

Sinoboom said products sold in North America and Europe are not yet configured with AI-Link, citing the specific requirements and market needs of those regions.
