JLG Updates SkyTrak Telehandlers With New Technology for Construction Jobsites

JLG Industries has introduced redesigned SkyTrak 10042, 10054 and 12054 telehandlers for the North American market, completing the company's update of its SkyTrak telehandler lineup.

The next-generation models are designed for construction, infrastructure, industrial and material handling applications. According to JLG, the machines offer lift capacities of up to 12,000 pounds and lift heights of up to 53 feet, 2 inches, making them suitable for handling heavy pallets, supporting steel erection, staging materials and moving equipment on jobsites.

"Completing the redesign of the SkyTrak telehandler lineup represents a major milestone for the brand," says John Boehme, senior product manager – telehandlers, JLG. "We engineered these updated SkyTrak 10K and 12K telehandler models with advanced technology and functional updates inspired directly by customer feedback, supporting productivity and operator confidence without compromising the workhorse reputation SkyTrak is known for."

Each model is powered by a Tier 4 Final Cummins F3.8 110-horsepower diesel engine paired with a four-speed Powershift transmission featuring SmartShift technology, which automatically shifts between third and fourth gears.

The redesigned telehandlers include a new control system with updated diagnostics and expanded functionality. Optional Load Stability Indication (LSI) technology senses forward load capacity and displays visual indicators, while the optional Seatbelt Engagement and Operator Presence (SEAOP) system provides visual and audible alerts and limits certain machine functions when operator engagement requirements are not met.

JLG also redesigned the enclosed cab with a larger LCD display and updated single-page load charts. The cab uses flat glass designed to simplify replacement if damaged.

To improve operator productivity, the machines feature an electric-over-hydraulic joystick with integrated auxiliary hydraulic functions and attachment tilt controls. Auxiliary hydraulic connections have been relocated to the side of the boom head to simplify attachment changes.

The telehandlers come standard with JLG's ClearSky Smart Fleet two-way communications platform for fleet connectivity, diagnostics and troubleshooting. Optional features include a multi-view reverse camera system displaying left, right and rear views on a single monitor, a reverse sensing system with in-cab audible alerts and a white noise backup alarm.

The lineup includes the SkyTrak 10042 with a 10,000-pound capacity, 42-foot, 1-inch lift height and 26-foot, 9-inch forward reach. The SkyTrak 10054 offers a 10,000-pound capacity, 53-foot, 2-inch lift height and 38-foot, 10-inch forward reach, while the SkyTrak 12054 increases lifting capacity to 12,000 pounds while maintaining the same maximum lift height and forward reach as the 10054.
