Bobcat Company has expanded its partnership with The Salvation Army to support disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts across the United States.

According to the company, Bobcat donated an additional $465,000 in equipment, bringing its total contributions to more than $1.35 million since 2024. The latest donation includes portable generators and light towers intended to support emergency response operations in Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and New York.

The expanded partnership builds on equipment donations made in 2024, when Bobcat provided 23 pieces of equipment, including forklifts, portable generators and light towers, to assist disaster response efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The equipment was deployed across the Southeast to support relief operations in affected communities.

The Salvation Army said the equipment helps improve response capabilities during natural disasters by providing mobile power and lighting to maintain operations and deliver services.

"The support from Bobcat enables our Emergency Disaster Services teams to respond quickly and effectively when communities face disasters,” said Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army. “With reliable equipment like generators, forklifts and light towers, we can provide critical services — meals, distribution of emergency supplies and emotional and spiritual care — without delay. We are deeply grateful for Bobcat’s ongoing partnership and commitment to helping us serve those in greatest need across the country.”

According to the release, emergency response organizations increasingly rely on equipment such as generators and light towers as weather-related disasters become more frequent. Data cited from the National Centers for Environmental Information stated that the United States averaged 23 billion-dollar weather disasters annually between 2020 and 2024, compared to an average of three per year in the 1980s.

Bobcat said its equipment is regularly used during recovery efforts following hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and wildfires to support cleanup and rebuilding operations.

“Our mission at Bobcat is to empower people to accomplish more, and that includes lifting up communities in their time of greatest need,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America, Inc. “By deepening our partnership with The Salvation Army, we’re helping their teams reach more individuals, deliver more services and make a greater impact when it matters most.”
