As part of National Preparedness Month, Bobcat Company and The Salvation Army are emphasizing the role of equipment and partnerships in disaster response.

In 2024, Bobcat donated 23 pieces of equipment, valued at $885,000, to The Salvation Army to aid recovery efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The equipment, including forklifts, portable generators and light towers, supported immediate response without rental delays.

“Partners like Bobcat make it possible for The Salvation Army to respond swiftly and effectively when communities are devastated by disaster,” said Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army.

Forklifts were used to unload thousands of pallets of food and water, while generators powered mobile kitchens and feeding sites. Bobcat President Mike Ballweber said, “Our collaboration with The Salvation Army allows Bobcat and our equipment to make an even greater impact, empowering The Salvation Army to maximize their efforts in doing the most good.”

The Salvation Army maintains a presence in nearly every ZIP code in the U.S., deploying staff, volunteers and mobile units to provide meals, shelter and recovery services.
