YOKE Industrial Corp. has increased global stock of its model 8-251 super point, a lifting point designed to automatically align with loads during lifting operations. The product is available in capacities ranging from 0.3 metric tons (0.33 U.S. tons) to 40 metric tons (44.1 U.S. tons).

The model 8-251 super point is part of YOKE’s lifting and rigging hardware line, which includes Grade 80 and Grade 100 lifting chain fittings, swivel hoist hooks, shackles, angular contact swivels, wire rope clips and lifting points.

The bolted lifting point features a ball-bearing design that allows it to rotate 360 degrees and tilt 230 degrees. The design enables the lifting point to automatically align with the direction of the load during lifting.

In field applications, loads can shift and side forces can occur. The super point is designed to adjust to those changes, helping protect bolts and lifting equipment. The forged hexagon-shaped body is intended to simplify attachment and removal.

The component is manufactured from forged alloy steel that is quenched and tempered for strength and durability. It features a metric thread.

Steven Hong, president at YOKE, said:

“While the ball-bearing feature is ingenious from an engineering standpoint, its value is in enhanced safety. It keeps the lift smooth and reduces wear, which are clear benefits in a multitude of applications at the point of use. In an ideal world, all lifts would be perfectly vertical but in reality this is often not the case — that’s why the model 8-251 super point is worth having in every rigging store.”

The model 8-251 super point is fitted with SupraNano digital chips and includes a digital product passport (DPP), supporting compliance with the European Union’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The system allows users to track product information, inspection reports and usage history.

Testing and certifications include:

  • EN1677-1 and EN1677-4
  • DGUV GS-OA-15-04 certification
  • Compliance with ASME B30.26

Load-rated parts are 100% magnaflux crack detected and proof tested to 2.5 times the working load limit (WLL). The product is fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the WLL.

According to the company, users should not turn continuously in a 90-degree direction at full load.
