Yanmar ViO80‑7 & SV100‑7 Mini Excavators Launch
Yanmar launches ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7 mini excavators with improved hydrology, comfort, tech and efficiency for construction, utility and demolition.
Yanmar Compact Equipment unveiled its next-generation ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7 mini excavators. These models bring enhanced hydraulic efficiency, expanded cab comfort and improved serviceability — ideal for work in utility, construction, demolition and landscaping sectors.
Yanmar’s ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7 are the largest units in their mini excavator line, featuring drivers in comfort with redesigned cabins, suspension seats, expanded foot space, ergonomic pedals, ample glass for better visibility and quiet cabins equipped with automatic air-conditioning and USB ports.
Performance has also received a boost. The 18,409‑lb ViO80‑7 delivers 18 percent more power with its 67‑hp tier 4 final diesel engine, while the 21,671‑lb SV100‑7 uses a 72‑hp engine. Both models offer 20 percent greater PTO flow, digging to depths of up to 14 feet 3 inches (ViO80) and 14 feet 11 inches (SV100). Yanmar’s signature zero tail‑swing on the ViO80‑7 and ultra‑tight tail‑swing on the SV100‑7 enable precise work in tight jobsites.
“These machines are entirely redesigned with the operator and service departments in mind,” said Peter Ovrebo, product management director at Yanmar CE North America. “From more comfort and enhanced ergonomics to an open hood system that is incredibly efficient to work on, we’re confident operators will be thrilled with the ViO80‑7 and SV100‑7’s performance and overall experience.”
Efficiency gains include a 15 percent increase in work speed, 13 percent better fuel economy, and 25 percent faster slope travel. A new two‑pump load‑sensing hydraulic system delivers power on demand while saving 13 percent in fuel use. The floating blade function supports smooth grading.
Operator technologies include a 7‑inch color LCD display controlling PTO flow, auto‑decel and passcode lockout. Standard rearview and right‑side cameras (with optional 360‑degree surround view) enhance safety. Integrated SmartAssist Remote telematics delivers five years of free data tracking, theft protection, diagnostic alerts, maintenance scheduling and operational reporting.
Maintenance and reliability improvements include a highly accessible engine compartment — including radiator, valves and oil‑water separator — plus a water‑contamination detection system. A cab‑operated hydraulic quick‑hitch enables fast attachment changes. Yanmar backs the machines with a 4 year/4,000 hour bucket‑to‑counterweight warranty.
