Yanmar Launches Upgraded ViO35-7 Mini Excavator
Yanmar launches ViO35-7 mini excavator with better visibility, faster travel and new configuration options for compact construction sites.
Yanmar Compact Equipment introduced the ViO35-7 mini excavator, featuring significant upgrades in productivity, configuration flexibility and operator experience. This 24.4-horsepower, true zero tail swing machine brings improvements to performance and transportability, making it well-suited for construction, rental, utility and landscaping applications.
“This new iteration of the ViO35 elevates both what operators can do and their experience while doing it,” said Zac Evans, mini excavator product manager, Yanmar Compact Equipment North America. “Yanmar listened to customers and delivered an upgraded model that’s easier to use and move around the jobsite. The ViO35-7 brings new levels of productivity while maintaining unbeatable reliability.”
Weighing 7,882 pounds, the ViO35-7 delivers greater breakout force and faster cycle times. A high-torque swing motor improves usability on slopes and during backfill work, while the machine’s three-pump hydraulic system helps prevent slowdowns during simultaneous operations. These pumps power all key movements, including boom, stick, swing and curl functions, allowing for smoother multitasking.
The excavator also features a 25% increase in travel speed under load, with a built-in auto-kickdown in two-speed mode to help operators transition easily between fast travel and precise control.
Yanmar has designed the ViO35-7 with durability and long-term reliability in mind. The machine includes a reinforced undercarriage, cylinder and hose guards and a strategically placed boom light. The diesel engine operates without the need for a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), simplifying maintenance.
Other service-friendly features include easy-access grease points, a relocated alternator for simplified fan belt adjustment and clear error codes on the display to assist in diagnostics, either on-site or remotely with a service technician. The ViO35-7 is backed by a 4-year/4,000-hour warranty.
The true zero tail swing design keeps the rear of the machine within the track width during rotation, helping operators avoid damage in confined spaces. Enhanced boom swing angles further support work in tight areas, while the compact frame simplifies transport.
The ViO35-7 comes equipped with Yanmar’s standard hydraulic quick coupler, which allows for quick attachment changes from within the cab. The upgraded system offers pin grabber style and double-locking functionality for compatibility with a range of attachments, including buckets and breakers.
Buyers can also choose from configuration options such as a second auxiliary circuit for multifunction attachments and straight or angle blade types.
Yanmar has redesigned the cab with comfort and visibility in mind. Larger windows and an updated roof deliver 360-degree jobsite visibility. Inside, the operator benefits from an adjustable suspension seat, ergonomic joystick controls, reduced cabin noise, improved HVAC airflow and added foot space with an updated pedal layout. The cab also includes a cup holder, phone holder and tablet holder.
A 4.3-inch color display enables operators to manage flow settings, monitor maintenance schedules and adjust auxiliary hydraulics. The screen also connects with an optional rear-view camera.
Each ViO35-7 includes a five-year subscription to Yanmar’s SmartAssist Remote telematics system. This cloud-based platform provides real-time diagnostics, GPS tracking for theft protection and usage reports to monitor performance and maintenance needs.
