Terramac Introduces RT15R Rotating Crawler Carrier
Terramac introduces the RT15R rotating crawler carrier with a 30,000-pound payload and operator-focused upgrades.
Terramac has introduced the RT15R, a new rotating crawler carrier that succeeds the RT14R and features increased payload capacity, updated maintenance features and operator-focused improvements.
The new model offers a 30,000-pound (15-ton) carrying capacity, an increase of 2,000 pounds over its predecessor. According to the company, the additional payload is designed to help contractors in the utility, pipeline and general construction industries move more material per trip to improve jobsite efficiency.
In addition to the increased carrying capacity, the RT15R includes updates intended to simplify maintenance and maximize uptime. Terramac said it optimized fuel, lubrication and daily service checkpoints to make routine maintenance more efficient. The machine also operates with a quieter profile and includes engine management systems designed to simplify operation.
Operator comfort and safety were also updated on the RT15R. The cab features an enlarged control panel and enhanced climate control system. Visibility has been improved by replacing the exterior crusher screen with a thicker windshield. Additional safety enhancements include longer access steps for easier entry, expanded operator alerts and the addition of a fire extinguisher.
“Terramac is committed to listening to the needs of our dealers and end-users and the RT15R is a product of the feedback we’ve received,” said Matt Slater, Terramac president. “By increasing the payload, simplifying aftertreatment technology and improving operator comforts we are providing a machine that works harder and is easier to operate and manage.”
The RT15R is powered by an EGR-free engine designed to meet emissions standards while simplifying operation, reducing operating costs and making refueling logistics easier. Daily service points are accessible from ground level, allowing routine inspections to be completed more efficiently.
The redesigned cab also includes a larger touchscreen display with updated controls, while retaining the 360-degree rotating upper structure found on the previous model. The rotating design allows operators to unload materials at different angles, which can improve safety and efficiency in confined work areas.
Built in St. Louis, the RT15R is available for worldwide shipment. Terramac said the crawler carrier is supported by its North American dealer network, providing access to rentals, replacement parts and aftermarket service.
