Perkins has appointed Richard Hemmings (pictured left) as vice president & general manager for Global Sales, Marketing, Service and Parts (SMSP), effective January 1, 2026. Hemmings will succeed Jaz Gill (pictured right), who is set to retire March 31, 2026, following a career spanning more than three decades with the company.

In his new role, Hemmings will oversee Perkins’ global commercial operations, including sales and marketing of Perkins-branded products and parts for the Perkins aftermarket business.

“Richard is known for his strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and ability to build and lead high-performing teams,” said Senior Vice President Steve Ferguson. “These qualities, coupled with his already strong relationships with key original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and our global distribution network, make him an ideal fit for the position.”

Hemmings brings nearly 20 years of experience with Perkins. He began his career as a graduate trainee in Peterborough, UK, and has since held a range of roles within the SMSP organization, including account management, market development, strategy and sales. Most recently, he served as general manager for Aftermarket.

“I’m excited to be taking on this role, at this time, as we continue to implement our strategic plan for profitable growth,” said Hemmings. “This work will position our business for continued long-term success as customers, industries and technologies continually shift and evolve.

He added: “Our continued investment in our full range of industrial engines continues to excite customers, as do our advanced power solutions such as the battery electric power unit that we announced last year and will be showing at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March. In addition, our connectivity and condition monitoring offerings, alongside the leading service and support options offered by our distributors, means 2026 is set to be an exciting year for the Perkins brand.”

Gill, who has led the SMSP organization since 2017, began his career with Perkins in Manchester, UK, and held multiple leadership roles across aftermarket, product marketing and global OEM sales during his tenure.
