National Crane introduced the NTC80 boom truck at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, expanding its lineup with a higher-capacity crane designed to operate from a commercial truck chassis.

The NTC80 provides 80 USt capacity and a 156 ft five-section main boom. The crane was developed based on feedback from customers working in utility, construction and oil and gas markets.

“The message we heard from customers was straightforward,” Ritter explained. “They needed more lifting capability, but the cranes still had to stay roadable and operate efficiently. The NTC80 was engineered to balance those priorities so crews can move, set up, and get to work without compromise.”

The crane uses a modular trayless counterweight system that allows operators to configure different weight packages depending on the job. Options include a 12,000 lb standard package, an 18,000 lb heavy roadable package and a 24,000 lb maximum configuration.

Four-position outriggers provide a 24 ft setup footprint, with an optional single front outrigger configuration available for tight jobsites.

A 37 ft to 61 ft bi-fold swing-away jib can extend reach when required and can be configured at multiple offsets. Electric pinning helps speed deployment.

The crane also features a hoist drum capacity of 22,500 lb with 19 mm wire rope and a single-line pull of 17,160 lb.

An updated crane cab provides increased interior space and improved operator visibility. Service access features include lockable ladder storage, multiple ladder access points and a pullout catwalk accessible from the cab to support inspection and maintenance.

“The NTC80 reflects how we’re thinking across Manitowoc right now,” Ritter said. “Going ‘Big and Bold’ means being deliberate about how we design equipment, where we invest, and how we support customers doing critical infrastructure work. Showing this crane at CONEXPO 2026 is about demonstrating that commitment in a practical, real-world way.”
