Metso has broken ground on a new service center in Prince George, British Columbia. The facility, located in a major Canadian mining hub, will support the region's growing demand, particularly within the copper and gold sectors. The center is expected to become fully operational in early 2026.

Announced in September 2024, the investment was well received by Metso’s customer base. The new facility will offer OEM-certified on-site inspections, off-site repairs and turnkey service solutions, aimed at reducing lead times and increasing efficiency.

“The investment decision, announced in September 2024, was very well received by our customers," said Justin Ayotte, vice president of Canada sales and service at Metso. "Metso’s strengthened local presence will enable faster repairs, shorter turnaround times, and increased sustainability by reducing transportation distances. We’re grateful for our customers’ trust, and we remain committed to becoming the preferred service provider in the industry."

The Prince George center will handle a range of mining equipment and systems — from crushing, grinding and flotation to screening, slurry handling, filtration and more. The site will also provide warehousing for critical spare and wear parts, improving delivery times and availability.

In addition to supporting mining operations, the facility will create jobs for local professionals including service engineers and technical specialists. Between 2022 and 2025, Metso was named a Great Place to Work in Canada, reflecting its focus on fostering a positive work environment.

The service center is part of a broader North American expansion. A new training center is also under development in Mesa, Arizona, with both facilities set for completion in 2026.

Globally, Metso operates more than 140 service locations and employs over 3,700 field service professionals. The company supports industries across six continents with equipment installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance services.

Metso, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, employs nearly 17,000 people across 50 countries. In 2024, the company reported approximately EUR 4.9 billion in sales. For more information, visit www.metso.com.
