Huddig Launches 1370 TIGON G2 With Larger Battery
Huddig launches the 1370 TIGON G2 with a 61-kWh battery, new equipment options, and Huddig Echo connectivity.
Huddig launched the HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 on September 8 as the next generation of its TIGON technology. The new model features increased battery capacity, additional equipment options, and compatibility with Huddig Echo, the company's fleet management system.
The 1370 TIGON G2 builds on four years of customer feedback, collected machine data, and operating experience from the first mass-produced TIGON generation. Huddig said the existing TIGON fleet includes 41 machines that have collectively operated for 96,306 hours.
According to machine data cited by Huddig, the fleet has operated on electric power for 56.68% of its total operating time and saved an estimated 531,621 liters of diesel, corresponding to approximately 1,372 metric tons of CO₂.
“With nearly 100,000 hours of actual operation, we’ve had a very solid foundation for our development work. The larger battery makes it possible to run on electric power even more, and we therefore expect to be able to improve these figures even further with the TIGON G2 HUDDIG,” says Daniel Åkerström, design engineer at Huddig.
The 1370 TIGON G2 uses a 61-kilowatt-hour battery, up from 44 kilowatt-hours in the previous generation. Huddig says the increase is nearly 40%.
The larger battery provides more available energy and allows the machine to capture more energy recovered during operation, including while braking and traveling downhill.
The battery operates optimally at approximately 20% to 80% charge. Huddig says the increased capacity provides more usable energy within that range, resulting in additional electric operating time, greater energy recovery, and fewer charging cycles over time.
The new TIGON generation is compatible with a wider range of Huddig equipment, including a loader-mounted crane, Huddig's remote control, the LIFT Type II, and the LIFT 2200C. The LIFT 2200C can also be equipped with the remote control and an insulated basket.
Huddig says the equipment options allow the machine to be configured for construction, utility, and railway work.
“The combination of extended electric runtime and more attachment options makes the HUDDIG TIGON G2 even more versatile and provides greater freedom to adapt the machine to the job at hand. The electric powertrain can also provide a clear competitive advantage in jobs where low emissions and low noise levels are becoming increasingly important,” says Daniel Myrgren, marketing and sales manager at Huddig.
The HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 is compatible with Huddig Echo, a fleet management system for machine operators and owners.
The web app brings together operating data, machine status, fuel levels, and information about the machine fleet. Huddig says the system is intended to provide opportunities to track machines, plan work, and review machine use. The company also says future development will provide additional opportunities to interact directly with machines.
The HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2 will be demonstrated publicly for the first time September 10 to 12 at Entreprenad Live in Knutstorp, where Huddig will participate alongside Staffare AB.
