CNH Plans Emissions Software Updates for Equipment
CNH will begin emissions-system software updates in Q4 2026, with additional equipment applications planned throughout 2027.
CNH will begin rolling out software updates during the fourth quarter of 2026 to align with updated U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidance on emissions-system fault inducement timing.
The updates are intended to give equipment owners and operators more time to plan and complete repairs before certain engine derates are triggered. CNH said the change is intended to help reduce avoidable downtime during critical operating periods.
The initial software releases will begin with priority products in the fourth quarter of 2026, with additional applications scheduled to follow throughout 2027.
CNH is developing revised engine software aligned with the updated EPA guidance. The initial rollout will focus on high-horsepower agricultural equipment, while additional product families will be added throughout 2027.
Once the software becomes available, customers with a CNH Electronic Service Tool subscription will be able to perform the update themselves. Dealers will also be able to install the software remotely or on site.
"Customers have been clear: they need solutions that help them stay productive, especially during seasonally critical windows," said Scott Harris, president, North America, CNH. "These updates are designed to give operators more practical flexibility in addressing emissions-system issues while supporting the performance and reliability they depend on across farms and jobsites."
The software updates are intended to provide additional time for addressing emissions-system service needs and reduce interruptions associated with certain faults.
