LGH, North America's largest lifting and rigging rental company, has partnered with Caldwell to develop a new forklift attachment aimed at improving the handling of long materials on job sites. The resulting product, the Caldwell Telescoping Forklift Beam, is now available exclusively through LGH.

“We noticed a recurring challenge in the field: customers needed a way to lift and transport longer materials like rebar bundles and piping without the overhead clearance or access for cranes,” said Chris Hyatte, product manager at LGH. “Traditional forklift attachments just weren’t cutting it in terms of reach, adaptability or safety. We saw an opportunity to create something better — an all-in-one solution that would bridge this gap and maximize on-site efficiency.”

The beam is designed for lifting applications commonly found on construction sites and in industrial environments. It allows forklifts to safely and efficiently move long or bulky items without relying on crane access. According to LGH, the product is already being used on multiple job sites with strong positive feedback.

“Customers love the versatility and how quickly they can adapt it to different lifting needs,” added Chris. “Many have commented on how it’s increased their material handling efficiency while keeping operations safe and streamlined.”

Key features of the Caldwell Telescoping Forklift Beam include a 12- to 20-foot spread range adjustable in one-foot increments, a 10,000-pound load capacity and a low headroom profile of 14.7 inches. The unit is equipped with dual 5-ton swivel hooks and offers an optional center hook. Adjustments are made using removable hitch pins and can be balanced on both sides for added safety.

“Caldwell has been a fantastic partner throughout this project,” said Hyatte. “From the earliest design discussions to final production, their team was responsive, innovative and genuinely interested in solving our customers’ challenges. We worked together to prototype, test and fine-tune the beam until it met our exacting standards — and the result speaks for itself.”

Caldwell brings over 70 years of experience in lifting solutions and works in partnership with the RUD Group to unify sales of RUD lifting devices across North America.
