Brigade Electronics, a global designer of commercial fleet safety systems, said it won the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the category of international trade.

This is the 2nd award for the United Kingdom-based company, which also won the award in 2019. Brigade designs advanced safety systems, including 360-degree camera systems, obstacle detection sensors, digital recorders and even brought the first reversing alarm to fleets around the globe. These systems are mainstays in the industry to minimize blind spots, protect vulnerable road users, and uphold stringent safety standards across various industries.

“This is a huge honour for Brigade. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by what is one of the most prestigious business awards in the world,” Philip Hanson-Abbott, Brigade’s managing director, said in a statement. “It goes without saying that road and workplace safety remains our number one priority and we remain wholly committed to producing high quality products that support drivers and save lives.”

In addition to Brigade Electronics, Deep Casing Tools, based in Aberdeen, also nabbed the King’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

The company’s technologies, including the TurboCaser, TurboRunner, MechLOK and Rubblizer, have garnered widespread acclaim in the oil and gas sectors for their efficacy in optimizing drilling operations and driving cost efficiencies.

Deep Casing Tools' business has surged in the oil and gas sector, especially in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Latin America regions, thanks to the streamlined operations these rigs bring to the job and that translate directly to time and cost savings.

“We have significantly increased our overseas footprint in recent years by entering new territories, and it is fantastic to see our efforts recognised,” David Stephenson, Deep Casing Tools’ CEO, said in a release. “By diversifying our business internationally, prioritizing markets with the highest growth potential and building strategic alliances, we have built a strong track record.”

The King’s Award for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, was renamed last year to reflect the British Royal Family's desire to continue the legacy started by Queen Elizabeth II in honoring the best British businesses.

This is the award’s 58th year and is viewed as one of the most prestigious business awards in the world. In addition to the industry wide acclaim the award brings, winners also are allowed use of the King’s Award Emblem for five years after winning the award.
