Brass Knuckle Expands SmartSkin Glove Options for Janitorial and Industrial Work
Brass Knuckle's SmartSkin glove line offers PVC, nitrile and disposable options for janitorial and industrial protection.
Brass Knuckle has highlighted its SmartSkin line of protective gloves designed for janitorial, sanitation and industrial applications where workers face exposure to chemicals, liquids and other workplace hazards.
According to the company, janitorial work carries a high risk of injury, with approximately one in five workers reporting injuries each year. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, germs and bloodborne pathogens are among the common hazards faced by workers in the sector. Other industries, including oil and gas, also require protective equipment that guards against dermal exposure to chemicals and liquids.
The SmartSkin line features liquid- and solvent-resistant gloves designed to provide protection against water and most aqueous solutions, detergents and diluted acids and bases, while also offering limited resistance to organic solvents.
The lineup includes three glove options intended for different applications.
The SMARTSKIN BKPVC glove is designed to provide liquid protection and abrasion resistance while maintaining flexibility and comfort. The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gloves feature a sandy finish intended to improve abrasion resistance and are designed for liquid handling and light chemical applications.
The SMARTSKIN BKNITR2 glove features a double-dipped Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) coating, with one coating covering the entire glove and a second coating applied to the fingers and palm. The gloves also feature a sandy finish intended to improve grip in wet conditions. According to Brass Knuckle, the gloves are designed for work involving liquids, chemicals and oils while maintaining grip on hand tools.
For single-use applications, Brass Knuckle offers Clean Hand® nitrile disposable gloves. The black nitrile gloves are designed for tasks such as mechanical and automotive work, providing barrier protection and tactile sensitivity while helping conceal dirt and grease.
Brass Knuckle said the SmartSkin line was developed to address the demands of janitorial and sanitation work by combining durable materials with practical designs intended to support worker safety across a range of applications.
