Bobcat Expands Excavator Lineup with E17 and E20
Bobcat introduces the E17 and next-gen E20 compact excavators with upgraded performance, available November 2025.
Bobcat Company is expanding its compact excavator lineup with the launch of the new E17 and a next-generation E20 model. Both machines will be available at U.S. and Canadian dealerships beginning in November 2025.
“We know our customers need machines that can deliver big results in tight spaces,” said Michael Wetzel, director product management at Bobcat Company. “The new E17 and E20 excavators are purpose-built for that challenge. They’re mini workhorses that give operators the power and lift capacity they need to tackle demanding jobs.”
Both models feature a load-sensing pump with a closed-center hydraulic system, fingertip controls, improved transportability with new lift-point locations and reinforced covers for durability. The excavators also support a wide range of attachments.
The E17 is designed with an in-track swing frame and zero-tail-swing design, allowing unrestricted rotation in tight areas. Its retractable undercarriage narrows from 53.5 inches to 38.6 inches for maneuvering through confined spaces, while the dozer blade can be folded to match the compact width.
The E17 has a rated lift capacity of 807 pounds and includes a standard pin-on attachment system, low-effort joystick controls, bright LED lighting and a spacious operator station with wider steps and a flat floor.
The upgraded E20 delivers 24% more arm digging force and 26% more lifting capacity over the blade compared to the previous model, with a rated lift capacity of 1,098 pounds. It also has a retractable undercarriage, zero tail-swing and smooth control upgrades for operator comfort.
The E20 includes a long arm and blade as standard, boosting reach, digging depth and grading performance. Optional cab configurations add heat, Bluetooth radio, auto idle, auto shift and reduced noise levels.
“Ultimately, our goal is to help operators succeed on every job,” Wetzel said. “The E17 and E20 give them the power to work faster, the precision to work smarter and the agility to work where other machines can’t.”
Both excavators will also be showcased at The Utility Expo (Oct. 7–9) and Equip Expo (Oct. 21–24) in Louisville, Ky.
