The American Ladder Institute (ALI) is preparing to mark the 10th anniversary of National Ladder Safety Month in March 2026, continuing its annual effort to promote safe ladder use across jobsites and in homes nationwide.

National Ladder Safety Month, established by ALI, is the only awareness program in the United States dedicated exclusively to ladder safety. The 2026 campaign carries the theme “10 Years of Safer Climbing” and highlights ladder-related risks that remain common but preventable in construction and maintenance environments.

According to ALI, ladders are among the most frequently used tools on construction sites, yet are often overlooked when it comes to regular training and inspection. The organization emphasizes that the campaign is intended to encourage contractors, safety managers and crews to review safety procedures and reinforce best practices.

The 2026 observance will focus on five weekly topics:
choosing the right ladder; check before you climb; set it up safely; climb safely, work safely; and safe steps with stepstools.

As part of the campaign, ALI continues to offer year-round ladder safety education through its free online training platform at laddersafetytraining.org. The site includes instructional videos covering ladder selection, inspection and proper use for a range of ladder types.

National Ladder Safety Month is supported by a broad group of industry sponsors representing construction, manufacturing, insurance and safety organizations.

Founded in 1947, ALI is the only approved developer of safety standards for the U.S. ladder industry and plays a central role in the development of ANSI ladder safety standards.
