The American Ladder Institute (ALI) concluded its 2025 National Ladder Safety Month campaign in March, continuing its effort to reduce ladder-related injuries and fatalities through education and outreach.

This year’s awareness campaign included three safety webinars, which drew 868 attendees. ALI President Mike Van Bree also participated in a national media tour, completing 14 interviews with local and syndicated stations and generating approximately 16 million impressions. As part of the initiative, ALI partnered with DIY influencer April Wilkerson to create safety-focused content for social media audiences.

ALI used the occasion to release an updated version of its Ladder Safety Training video. The update added coverage of telescoping ladders, alongside existing guidance for single and extension ladder types.

The organization also introduced its Safety Ambassador Program, which encourages companies to certify that at least 80% of their ladder-using employees have successfully completed ALI’s ladder safety training. Qualifying companies receive access to a promotional toolkit to help reinforce safe practices on the jobsite. The program covers five courses: Stepladder Safety; Single, Extension & Telescoping Ladder Safety; Articulated Ladder Safety; and Mobile Ladder Stands Safety.

Sponsors of the 2025 campaign included the International Masonry Institute, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Werner Co., Riverdale Plating & Heat Treat, Dorsey & Whitney and Louisville Ladder.

Founded in 1947, ALI is a not-for-profit trade association that promotes ladder safety and helps develop ANSI safety standards. National Ladder Safety Month is held every March and is dedicated to promoting ladder safety awareness both at home and in the workplace.
