AEM's National Mall Event Highlights Construction Workforce and Equipment Innovations

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) brought together industry leaders, policymakers and the public for the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from May 14 to 16. The event showcased the integral role of the construction workforce and the latest equipment innovations shaping America's infrastructure.

Attendees explored over 80 pieces of heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators and utility vehicles, reflecting the industry's advancements in technology and efficiency. Interactive displays and educational exhibits aimed to inspire the next generation of construction professionals.

AEM's Manufacturing Express featured the Manufacturing Challenge and promoted the I Make America campaign, supporting the 2.3 million individuals employed in equipment manufacturing.

Megan Tanel, president and CEO of AEM, emphasized, “This event is a powerful reminder of how essential the construction equipment industry is in building a stronger America.”

John Somers, vice president of construction and utility sectors for AEM, added, “By spotlighting our industry’s innovations and emphasizing the challenges we face, we’re building momentum to solve real challenges that will promote a stronger, safer, and more sustainable construction industry.”
