Advanced Precast Company, Inc. has expanded its lifting and material-handling capabilities with the addition of a Shuttlelift DB50 rubber-tired gantry crane at its Wisconsin production facility.

The company produces structural and architectural prestressed concrete products at a 70,000-square-foot plant equipped with four casting lines. Despite its size, Advanced Precast has emphasized speed and efficiency in daily operations.

“We are a small facility, but we are fast in how we operate,” said Randy Anderson, director of operations. “Because of our efficiencies, people often think we’re much larger than we actually are.”

As demand increased, the company determined that additional lifting equipment was needed to support ongoing production. Anderson first connected with Shuttlelift at a trade show and continued discussions as the need became more immediate. “After getting to know Shuttlelift, we realized how easy it was to work together.”

The DB50 gantry crane includes a cab and platform layout designed for operator comfort, along with a hoist configuration that allows maintenance access from ground level. According to the company, the crane’s IQAN diagnostic system has also supported maintenance efficiency and uptime.

The delivery and installation process was completed without interrupting normal operations. “The Shuttlelift technicians were incredibly self-sufficient, we were able to go about our normal day as they did their job. It was a seamless install,” Anderson said. He added, “The learning curve from our previous equipment to Shuttlelift was easy and smooth.”

The crane is now in service as Advanced Precast continues to support increased workload and operational demands.
