FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE California Auctioneers Association announces bid calling and ringman winners Overland Park, Kan. – John Person of Medford, Ore. and Mitch Jordan of Phoenix, Ariz. were selected as the California Auctioneers Association’s (CAA) 2006 Pro and Rookie Bid Calling champions at the CAA’s convention in San Diego, Calif. on Oct. 26-28. Person was selected from among 29 contestants who participated in the contest. He receives a trophy, ring and a $10,000 cash prize to use to help his auction business. Additionally, Jordan also receives a trophy and a cash prize of $2,500. Winning the first ever Ringman competition for the CAA, Merve Hilpipre of Hilpipre Auction Co. in Cedar Falls, Iowa will receive a ring and a cash prize of $1,000. The CAA’s convention was held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego. Auctioneers from across the country attended the CAA convention to participate in continuing education and network with other auctioneers. California State Auctioneers Association exists to promote the auction method of marketing through professional and ethical auctioneering practices in the state of California.
