Cleveland, OH: ALLEGHENY TRAILERS ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY FIRST:
Pioneering Design combines Turret Reel Carrier Tensioning and Take-Up With Self-Loading Feature.

Currently available on the Utility Trailer market, this product provides a small, compact Reel Carrier, for the “Small Reel” – up to 5,000 pounds, 72” diameter x 54” wide - with features that heretofore were only found on the largest and most expensive Reel Carrier units on the market – such as those for handling 40,000 pound “monster” reels, available from “Bucket Truck” manufacturers at $100,000 or $150,000 or more.  But the Allegheny Trailers Model RCT-SLH-2.5T is available for only $19,550 – including all features plus Gasoline 4-cycle electric ignition engine, operators controls, and full self-contained hydraulic system.  

Previously, the Small Reel handler – such as a Contractor, or an Electrical organization (Muni, Co-op, or Investor-owned), or a Cable System operator – would have to purchase multiple trailer units to get these features for the Small Reel: a Self-Loading Reel Carrier AND a Turret Reel Carrier. Now they can purchase a SINGLE trailer unit, maximizing crew efficiency, reduce operator back-strain and injury, and improve reel-stringing capabilities in tight spots --- with this rugged, durable product.

The heart of this new product is the high-duty Allegheny Rotating Bearing unit – the same type used in large “cherry-picker” boom cranes – which is designed and manufactured for withstanding huge twisting live loads during everyday use – and combining this with Reel handling systems such as the Allegheny 17” Vented Bronze Tensioning Brake with Take Up unit, the Allegheny Spindle Bar and Bronze Saddle & Cap unit, and the Self-Loading system.  Together, along with LED lighting and hot-dip galvanized frame, the Allegheny RCT-SLH-2.5T is an industry-leading product.
