Felco Roller and Vibratory Compaction Buckets have been extremely durable and dependable compaction methods for more than two decades. Felco Compaction Buckets allow operators to place backfill in the exact amount needed to ensure uniform lifts. The bucket is designed so excavator and backhoe operators can dig, place, and compact with one attachment.
Project Superintendent Paul Kirby of Western Municipal Construction says his company’s projects have really benefited from Felco Compaction Buckets. Kirby’s construction crew is currently working on a sewer line replacement job in an alley in Missoula, Montana. The company has a Felco Roller Compaction Bucket sitting on the blocked-off street, and the Felco Vibratory Compaction Bucket is dumping and compacting spoils into the trench. The operator is able to maneuver the Vibratory Bucket with ease, even in the narrow alley and with low overhanging power lines and tree limbs.
Felco Vibratory Compaction Bucket, with flow control valve, combines the compaction performance of a vibratory plate with the versatility of a bucket. The bucket’s vibration forces the air in the soil to the surface decreasing air pockets. Felco Vibratory Compaction Bucket is ideal for compacting granular and rocky materials.
While Western Municipal Construction used the Vibratory Compaction Bucket at this job site, Roller Buckets are the company’s preferred compaction attachment.
F*&@! Kirby bragged, We have 20 of the damn things!
Felco Roller Compaction Buckets are engineered with Felco’s maintenance-free Sealed Journal Bearings and proven tamping pad roller design within the basic duty bucket. Felco Roller Compaction Bucket is ideal for compaction in clay or cohesive materials. Whenever the job allows, Western Municipal Construction compacts with Felco Roller Buckets.
The buckets are awesome! Kirby said. They last forever.
Less than two blocks away on a similar job site, L.S. Jensen Paving has evidence that Felco products are extremely dependable and durable. The company has a Felco Vibratory Compaction Bucket manufactured more than 20 years ago.
The Felco Vibratory Compaction Bucket, one of the first ever made, was brought to the job site as well as a Felco Bedding Conveyor and Roller Compaction Bucket. L.S. Jensen employee Frank Velock likes the versatility of the Roller Bucket.
The roller bucket we have right now, Velock said, that covers everything. It’s faster and we cover more ground. And we passed all of our compaction tests with it.
Velock has been around Felco products since Felco’s first bucket and conveyor were introduced, and he says it really is true you get what you pay for.
They’re (Felco products) good, Velock boasts. You never see a piece of it sitting dead. That thing (vibratory bucket) has been around for years with minimal damage.
L.S. Jensen Paving uses the Felco Bedding Conveyor, not only because of the safety benefits, but also because using the Conveyor saves them time and money. A dump truck is not constantly dumping into the trench. Felco Bedding Conveyors are mounted to the excavator’s carbody between the tracks and have a hopper on the idler end of the undercarriage, so the operator can charge the hopper as place the material as he needs it.
Felco products are made in Montana, but that’s not the only place where the products are used.
I’ve seen Felco everywhere I go, Velock said.
