United Kingdom Recyclers Cross
Oceans to Witness the Creation of a Beast

REMUS, MICH.: Owners of the first track Beast in the United Kingdom traveled 4,500 miles to Remus, Michigan to tour the facilities and meet with the developers of their primary piece of equipment, the Bandit Beast Recycler, at Bandit Industries, Inc. in late February.

Brothers Gavin and Terry Griffith of Griffiths Pallet Services, Ltd., made the journey across the Atlantic seeking a custom chipping head for their Beast that would be better suited for their needs in the wood pallet recycling business.

The brothers have been in operation together for nearly ten years and have approximately twenty-five employees at their recycling company in Swansea County, Wales. They bought their first Beast Recycler in 2001, and have since acquired a Beast Track model, the first of its kind in Europe. They now have two Beast machines in operation: the 3680 Beast Towable and the 3680 Beast Track. It is the only piece of machinery they use for chipping.

“We’d ran a number of machines before we went on to the Beast,” said Gavin, “and we’ve been very happy with the Beast product.” Compared to other machines they had tried, Gavin said, “[the Beast] is a lot more reliable, simply a far better machine.”

The Griffith brothers’ situation is unique in the type of chipping that they do. The custom head that was designed for their Beast Recycler has been found to increase productivity in a number of applications and has subsequently been integrated as an optional feature on Beast Models 2680 and 3680.

Touring the facilities at Bandit Industries has further increased the Griffith brothers’ confidence in Bandit and their products. “We’re very happy with what we’ve seen here,” said Gavin, “and we’re very confident in seeing the backup that they can give to the UK agent. And with the new head now [on the Beast], it’s made me a very happy man.”

Bandit is known for their enduring commitment to product improvement and customer satisfaction, something the Griffith brothers have now experienced first hand.

Terry confirmed, “It just completes the package, doesn’t it? We’ve seen the loop come full circle. We’re very satisfied with what we’ve seen here.”
