Electric West 2006 Draws Thousands

Exhibitors and Attendees Give the Show Rave Reviews

Stamford, CT, March 10 - Electric West 2006 (March 1-3, Las Vegas Convention Center) proved enormously successful for exhibitors and extremely informative for attendees, as both groups gave the Show high praise for being a well-attended and well-run event. The Show featured over 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest electrical products and equipment, as well as Professional Advancement Courses and a top-notch Conference Program. Attendees included electrical engineers, electrical contractors, plant and facility management, electricians, and company presidents, owners, and partners.

The Show opened Wednesday, March 1 with an exciting dual Keynote address on Disaster Recovery for all attendees. Bob Baird of the Independent Electrical Contractors, Inc., and H. Brooks Stauffer of the National Electrical Contractors Association shared their insights on how electrical professionals can prepare for and face the challenges and opportunities natural disasters create. Another Show highlight was the Power Quality Ask The Experts Panel. Moderated by EC&M Editorial Director John Dedad, the panel included noted power quality authorities Alex McEachern, Robert Moore, Greg Evans, and Thomas Shaughnessy. These industry heavyweights fielded a wide range of power quality and reliability questions from attendees.

On the Show floor, attendees were treated to several exciting promotions, including the conclusion of Ideal Industries’ Twice the Muscle Twice the Power Sweepstakes, as 5 lucky finalists each received a chance to start up and win an unbelievable custom ’69 Dodge Charger!
Other promotions in the Exhibit Hall included Worthington Distributions Wiring Challenge, and the Visible Vault, which gave each attendee a chance to win $25,000 or one of several
exhibitor donated prizes, including a Bose Wave radio, an Ipod, an NEC book set, Amex gift
checks, and flashlights!
